To mix regular white plaster to obtain a strong, cohesive piece: 

2 cups of plaster powder: 1 cup of water (2:1 ratio by volume) 

If you want to calculate it by weight (which is the most accurate method for craftsmen): 

100 grams of plaster: 60-65 grams of water.
